These terms cover your use of fitspec.com.au. By using the site, you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use the site.

Who we are

FITSPEC is operated by a sole trader based in Victoria, Australia, ABN 49 452 393 782. Contact: hello@fitspec.com.au.

What FITSPEC is

FITSPEC is an index. You tell us your vehicle — make, model, year, series — and we show you 4WD, ute and touring accessories that Australian retailers say will fit it, with a link to the retailer's own product page.

That's the whole product. We are an index and a referral service, nothing more.

What FITSPEC is not

• We are not a retailer. We don't sell anything.
• We hold no stock. Nothing listed here is ours.
• We take no payments. There is no checkout on this site.
• We are not the manufacturer, distributor or agent for any product listed.
• We are not a fitter, mechanic or engineer, and nothing here is fitting or engineering advice.

Fitment information — read this before you buy

This is the most important clause on the page.

FITSPEC does not assert that any part fits your vehicle. We read fitment claims out of the retailer's own product titles and feed data, and show you those claims attributed to that retailer. The fitment you see on FITSPEC is the retailer's statement, not ours.

Our matching is automated. It can be wrong, and sometimes is. Common reasons:

• the retailer's product title is abbreviated, or leaves out the series, variant, cab type or build date
• the retailer's own fitment data is out of date or simply incorrect
• a model got a mid-series update the title doesn't mention
• fitment depends on something we can't see — suspension height, bar work already fitted, wheel offset, factory options, existing modifications
• our parser misread the title

Always confirm fitment directly with the retailer before you buy. Check the retailer's own product page, and if there's any doubt, ring them and quote your VIN, build date and series. Treat FITSPEC as the start of that conversation, not the answer to it.

We're not liable for a part that doesn't fit. The fitment claim is the retailer's, the sale is the retailer's, and the check is yours.

Product information, prices and availability

Product titles, descriptions, images, categories, prices and links all come from retailers' affiliate product feeds. We reproduce that data; we don't verify it.

Feeds update on a delay. Prices change, sales end, stock runs out, products get discontinued. The price shown on FITSPEC may not be the price you pay. The retailer's own product page is always the correct and current source for price, availability, specifications, shipping and stock.

If there's a difference between what FITSPEC shows and what the retailer shows, the retailer is right.

Buying from a retailer

When you click through and buy something, the contract is between you and that retailer. FITSPEC is not a party to it. The retailer — not us — is responsible for:

• taking your payment and processing your order
• shipping, delivery times and freight damage
• product quality, description accuracy and fitment
• returns, refunds, exchanges and change-of-mind policies
• manufacturer warranties
• your rights as a consumer under Australian Consumer Law in relation to that purchase

Your Australian Consumer Law rights against the retailer are unaffected by anything on this page. If something goes wrong with an order, deal with the retailer — we can't refund you, cancel your order or chase your delivery, because we never had your money or your order.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site earn us a commission if you buy. It costs you nothing extra, retailers who pay us nothing are still listed, and commission does not affect ranking. The full explanation is on our Affiliate disclosure page.

We may in future include sponsored placements. If we do, they will always be clearly labelled as sponsored.

Modifications, safety and compliance are on you

Fitting accessories to a vehicle can affect its roadworthiness, its compliance with vehicle standards, its warranty and your insurance. Rules differ between states and territories, and some modifications need engineering approval or certification.

FITSPEC lists parts. It doesn't tell you whether fitting one is legal, safe or appropriate for your vehicle or your use. Check with a qualified fitter or mechanic, your insurer, and your state or territory road authority before you modify anything. If a product needs professional fitting, get it professionally fitted.

Using the site

You're welcome to use FITSPEC to research parts for your vehicle, personally or for your business. You must not:

• scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-extract data from the site by automated means
• copy the index, or any substantial part of it, to build a competing product or database
• resell, republish or redistribute our fitment data
• interfere with the site, its security, or the servers it runs on
• use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that misleads others about what FITSPEC is

We may block access to anyone doing these things, without notice.

Availability

We try to keep the site up, but we don't promise it will be available, complete, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or shut down any part of FITSPEC at any time, without notice.

Intellectual property

The FITSPEC name, the site design, the fitment index, our matching logic and our original written content belong to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy or reuse them beyond ordinary personal browsing without our written permission.

Product titles, descriptions and images belong to the retailers and brands who supplied them. We display that content under our affiliate arrangements or as ordinary referral linking. All rights stay with the owners.

Vehicle makes, models and brand names are used purely to identify vehicles and products. Those names and trade marks belong to their owners. Their use here does not mean FITSPEC is affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by any vehicle manufacturer, brand or retailer.

If you own content that appears here and want it removed, email hello@fitspec.com.au and we'll deal with it promptly.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. Where a law says a right can't be excluded, that right applies despite anything on this page.

Subject to that:

• FITSPEC is provided "as is". We give no warranty that the data on it is accurate, current or complete.
• We are not liable for loss you suffer from relying on third-party product data, pricing or fitment claims shown on this site.
• We are not liable for anything to do with your dealings with a retailer, including orders, payments, delivery, faulty goods or parts that don't fit.
• We are not liable for damage to your vehicle, or for the cost of fitting, removal, freight or return, arising from a part that turned out not to suit.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost time, lost income or lost opportunity.

Where we are permitted to limit our liability rather than exclude it, our total liability to you for any claim is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

Any liability we do have is reduced to the extent your own acts or omissions contributed to the loss — including where you bought a part without confirming fitment with the retailer, as this page asks you to.

Enquiries passed to fitters and installers

We may in future let you send an enquiry to a fitter or installer through this site, and we may be paid for passing that enquiry on. This is not live today. If we introduce it, we'll disclose the commercial arrangement clearly at the point of enquiry, and update these terms and our Privacy policy first. Any work you arrange with a fitter is a contract between you and them.

Privacy

How we handle information is set out in our Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the bottom. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the courts able to hear appeals from them.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest keeps operating.
