Series codes for the Toyota LandCruiser
Australian retailers state fitment by series, not by model name. These are the codes you'll see in listings for this vehicle — the chassis codes in brackets mean the same generation and often appear instead.
Your build plate is the authority — a model can change series part-way through a year, and Australian delivery often lags the global launch. How to find your series.
Four unrelated vehicles share this name
More than any other vehicle on this site, "LandCruiser" is not a vehicle. It's a family, and the members have almost nothing to do with each other.
- 70 Series — 76 wagon, 78 Troopcarrier, 79 cab chassis. Live axles front and rear, leaf-sprung at the back on the 79. Still in production, essentially a different vehicle from everything below.
- 100 and 105 Series — 1998 to 2007. The 105 kept a solid front axle; the 100 has independent front suspension. That difference alone changes every suspension and steering part.
- 200 Series — 2007 to 2021.
- 300 Series — 2021 onwards, and a new platform again.
A part listed for "LandCruiser" with no series is unusable information. This is the vehicle where the series code does the most work of any in the market.
The 79 has its own internal split
Single cab and dual cab 79s have different wheelbases, different tray lengths and different sliders. Toyota also revised the front end in 2007 and again in 2016, which affects bars and anything mounted to them.
What to give the retailer
The series number first — 76, 78, 79, 100, 105, 200 or 300 — then the build date, then the body. With the series alone most retailers can already narrow it correctly; without it, nobody can.
How to be sure a part actually fits
Fitment on this page is the retailer's own claim, shown with their name against it. FITSPEC doesn't assess or guarantee fitment.
This page covers every year of the Toyota LandCruiser, from 1990 to 2026. That is deliberate — it is a page about the vehicle, not about one model year — but it means a part listed here may suit a different generation from yours. Each card prints the years the retailer stated, and the index filters to your exact year.
- Confirmed fit — the retailer named this vehicle, by series or by year, rather than the model alone.
- Likely fit — they list it for this model without saying which years or series it covers.
Series and generation matter more than most people expect. A part cut for one generation frequently won't bolt to the next, even though the badge on the tailgate hasn't changed. If you're spending real money, quote your VIN to the retailer before you order.
