Make Model Series / generation Year

Plate figures. These are what the sums use, and this site won't guess them. They're on your compliance plate — usually the driver's door jamb. A weighbridge ticket beats any brochure figure for kerb weight. Enter them once; the build remembers them here.

GVM (kg) required Gross Vehicle Mass. Kerb weight (kg) required Empty, ideally from a weighbridge. Roof rating (kg) The vehicle's dynamic rating, from the owner's manual. Leave blank to skip roof load. GCM (kg) Gross Combination Mass, needed to check towing. Rated tow (kg) Optional. The headline brochure figure. Roof rack weight (kg) The rack counts against the roof rating too. Optional.

2 · Add the build

Each suggested part comes with a typical installed weight — an estimate to start with, not a verified number. Edit any weight to the real part's figure; the sums use what you type.

Where these numbers come from

Everything here comes off your vehicle, not a database. We don't look up GVM or kerb weights by model, because a figure that's close but wrong is the difference between legal and not — so the site never publishes one. The vehicle selector carries only what we actually verify: the make, model, series and year.

GVM, GCM — the compliance plate, usually inside the driver's door jamb.
Kerb weight — a weighbridge ticket is the only honest figure. Public weighbridges are cheap.
Roof rating — the owner's manual, and rarely anywhere else.
Part weights — typical estimates from this site's buying guides and calculators, labelled as estimates and editable. Verify each part before you rely on it.
