The MV grew, and older parts stopped fitting
The MQ and MR ran from 2015 to 2024 and are closely related to each other. The MV arrived in 2024 noticeably wider and longer, on a new chassis.
Bars, flares, sliders and anything dimensioned to the body changed with it. This one catches people because MR and MV are visually similar enough at a glance, and because the aftermarket took a while to catch up — plenty of listings still say "Triton" while meaning MQ/MR.
MQ to MR was a facelift, not a new vehicle
The 2019 MR revision changed the front bumper and grille. Front-end protection is usually MQ-specific or MR-specific; most other things carry across. A bar listed for "MQ" fitted to an MR is the common version of this mistake.
Older Tritons are a separate market again
The ML and MN (2006 to 2015) share nothing meaningful with the MQ onwards. They're well supported by older stock but it's a different catalogue.
The Pajero Sport connection
The Pajero Sport of each era is built on the Triton of that era, so front-end parts sometimes cross. Everything behind the front doors does not — one is a ute, the other a wagon.
What to give the retailer
The series letters and the build date. On a 2024 vehicle, say whether it's MR or MV, because that year contains both.
